PRESS BIO:
Rory Michelle Sullivan writes songs, creates musical theatre, and facilitates gatherings that inspire individuals to become the most self-realized version of themselves. As a songwriter, musician, and Jewish educator, her work converges at the intersection of spirituality, art, and education.

Rory Michelle's work has been showcased at festivals such as ish, Cincinnati's Jewish and Israeli Arts and Cultural Festival, on Jewish radio stations, in Philadelphia RowHome magazine, and in broadwayworld.com. Songs from her musical RISING IN LOVE and the Rising in Love Concept Album were featured in Women Of The Wings Volume III: A Celebration Of Female Musical Theatre Writers at the legendary venue Feinstein's/54 Below in New York City. She has been a featured or emerging artist at Limmud Chicago + MW, URJ Biennial, and on Jewish Rock Radio.

Rory Michelle is currently developing her very singable musical coming-of-age story, RISING IN LOVE, about interracial Jewish couple Rosie and Scott who overcome their deepest fears to make modern love work - and the sometimes supportive, occasionally zany friends who influence them. Collaborators include composer Jonathan Shanes and dramaturg Erica Riddick. A staged reading was produced by ish, driving Cincinnati's Jewish and Israeli Arts in Culture, in Cincinnati in June 2021. Hear music and more at risinginlovethemusical.com.

Rory Michelle is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild and the Alliance for Jewish Theatre. She holds a bachelors
in psychology from Harvard University and a Masters in Arts in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Background and Discography:
Rory Michelle has recorded and performed internationally, from intimate living rooms in Jerusalem and local bars in Vienna and New York City to the legendary Club Passim in Cambridge, MA.
From age seventeen until her mid-twenties, Rory Michelle studied classical voice with sopranos Sona Ghazarian (Vienna, Austria) and Anna Gabrieli (Boston, MA) before launching her independent career as a singer-songwriter in 2012. She has since released four studio albums of original songs: Rising in Love Concept Album (2019; musical theatre, with Moira Lo Bianco), The God Album (2015; folky funk, rock, and swing), Inner Child (2014; folk/sing-songwriter), and Turtledove (2013; folk/singer-songwriter). Her Jewish-themed musical endeavor, THE GOD ALBUM, is infused, inspired, and informed by Jewish text which she studied full-time for half a year at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem, Israel.
